Ένα πραγματικό γεγονός έλαβε χώρα στον Έβρο πριν λίγες ημέρες όταν ένας νεαρός ψάρευε στον ποταμό και ανάμεσα στα άλλα ψάρια που είχε πιάσει στα δίχτυα του είδε κάτι που τον έκανε να χάσει το χρώμα του.Είχε πιάσει ένα πιράνχας....
Πιράνχας, ήταν ένα από τα ψάρια που πιάστηκαν στα δίχτυα Τούρκου ερασιτέχνη ψαρά στον Έβρο, όπως υποστηρίζει ο ίδιος ο ψαράς.
Ο Καντίρ Οσάλ, ο οποίος, όπως δηλώνει στο τουρκικό πρακτορείο ειδήσεων "Αναντολού", ψαρεύει εδώ και είκοσι χρόνια στον Έβρο υποστήριξε πως είναι η πρώτη φορά που συνάντησε πιράνχας στον Έβρο και ότι το ψάρι που πιάστηκε στα δίχτυα του είναι μεγέθους 45 εκατοστών.
Ο ψαράς κάλεσε τους αρμόδιους να κάνουν έρευνες, αφού τόνισε πως «αυτό μπορεί να είναι το τέλος της αλιείας στον Έβρο, αλλά και να αποτελέσει κίνδυνο και για τους ανθρώπους».
Ο Οσάλ είπε ότι το συγκεκριμένο ψάρι δεν συναντάται στην Τουρκία και ότι ενδεχομένως κάποιοι να το απελευθέρωσαν από κάποιο ενυδρείο, ενώ δεν απέκλεισε να υπάρχουν και άλλα ψάρια του είδους στο ποτάμι.
